New Year Changes

The New Year has seen a few changes at the Lindley Band.

Rob Westacott, who recently retired from top class playing with Brighouse & Rastrick, has accepted the role as Musical Director and will make his debut with the band at the forthcoming Brass at the Guild contest in Preston on 28th January.  Meanwhile, outgoing MD James McCabe has moved in the opposite direction and has returned to Rothwell Temperance Band as principal cornet.

Within the Lindley player ranks, Alison Pickles has moved to principal cornet, whilst the talented Harry Newton, a pupil at Chetham’s School of Music, has joined on solo euphonium. Haydn Osborne has been promoted to second cornet, joined by Andrew Chandler who has returned to the band after a short break and 10 year old Lucas Williamson, another successful product of Lindley’s Tower Brass, has joined on percussion.
