Veteran trombone player and esteemed conductor, Alan Widdop returns to Yorkshire, with his recent appointment as Musical Director of the Huddersfield-based Lindley Band. Alan has a wealth of experience that he brings to Lindley and the Band are delighted to have the opportunity of working closely with him, gaining from his vast banding experience and many successes.
Alan is excited to be back with a Yorkshire band for the first time since 2018. He says he can’t wait to “get his teeth stuck into” the concert programmes for the band’s forthcoming engagements and is looking forward to taking up the challenge of next year’s contest season, with the aim of returning the band to winning ways and the higher tiers of banding.
All at Lindley band would like to thank outgoing Musical Director Mike Golding for all his hard work and commitment over the past three years, and wish him all the best for the future
