Lindley Band is very pleased to welcome some new blood to their cornet section with the arrival of Huddersfield University students Adam Chappell and Gethin Wyn Jones. Gethin comes to Lindley from the Llanrug Silver Band in North Wales, where he was assistant principal. Adam’s previous band was Bradwell Silver and he has joined Lindley after performing with Bradwell in the Cheltenham finals. Both lads are looking forward to their contest debut with Lindley at Dewsbury Town hall ....
Lindley Band would like to announce the welcome return to the brass band scene of two highly experienced players. Ex Besses euphonium Keith Johnson commences his second stint at Lindley, this time on the solo seat. Keith says he was lured back into playing with the promise of enjoyment and beer! Also, following a 4 year break from banding, Dave Seymour joins Lindley on bass trombone. This is Dave’s first venture onto the bass trombone seat during his illustrious 50 year playing career and he is excited about this new challenge....
Lindley band announces a couple more signings this week. Firstly they would like to welcome Jenny Cook to the first baritone seat from the Yorkshire Imps, where she enjoyed successful stints on both baritone and tenor horn. The signing of Jenny completes the strengthening of the horn/baritone line at Lindley. Also joining from Skelmanthorpe Prospect Band is John Haston. John joins on second trombone and will play alongside existing 2nd trombonist Victoria Oliver. The band will benefit from this dual running in several ways as well as getting the services of two great banders, it gets double the skills, double the experience and also cover for both Victoria and John’s work committments...
